What you will do:

Electra is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support the qualification, performance, and continuous improvement of suppliers across a global supply base. This role partners closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to ensure supplied components, materials, assemblies, and equipment consistently meet quality, reliability, and performance requirements while supporting the scale-up of Electra's technology from pilot through commercial operations.

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will work directly with suppliers to drive quality improvements, implement effective quality controls, develop a formal supplier quality program, resolve technical and quality issues, and reduce supplier-related risk through strong supplier partnerships, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the primary quality representative for assigned suppliers and purchased components, materials, assemblies, and equipment.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and monitor suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements, specifications, and performance expectations.
  • Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and capability reviews to support supplier qualification, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with suppliers to improve product quality, process capability, delivery performance, and operational reliability.
  • Lead supplier development initiatives that improve supplier performance, reduce risk, and support production readiness.
  • Develop and implement incoming quality controls (IQC), inspection plans, and monitoring systems for critical purchased products and materials.
  • Investigate supplier-related quality issues and non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to sustainable closure.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
  • Define and track supplier quality KPIs and supplier performance metrics.
  • Utilize data to identify trends, improve specifications, reduce variability, and support continuous improvement across the supply base.
  • Own the development of a formal supplier quality program, including selection and administration of relevant tools and/or systems.
  • Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and approval activities.
  • Partner closely with procurement, engineering, and operations to align supplier selection, qualification, and production readiness activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What we need you to bring to the team:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, manufacturing, materials science, supply chain, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing engineering, supplier development, operations, or related industrial manufacturing environments with at least 4 years in supplier quality engineering.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers to qualify products, improve performance, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience conducting supplier assessments, audits, supplier performance reviews, or supplier qualification activities.
  • Experience investigating non-conformances and supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, supplier quality processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to utilize data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in cross-functional environments and drive outcomes through influence and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


What we want you to bring to the team:
  • Experience supporting suppliers of machined components, fabricated equipment, welded assemblies, pressure vessels, piping systems, industrial equipment, OEM equipment, or other engineered products.
  • Experience with metals, metallurgy, mining, battery materials, chemical processing, or hydrometallurgical operations.
  • Experience with supplier quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FAI, FMEA, CAPA, 8D, Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO-based quality systems.
  • Experience supporting pilot, demonstration, or early-stage commercial manufacturing operations.
  • Experience developing specifications, inspection plans, quality controls, and creating supplier performance programs.
  • Lean Six Sigma, ASQ, auditor certification, or other quality-related certifications.

Compensation:
  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $100,000-$140,000 and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
