Full Job Description
The Foundation and Ground Improvement Division of Michels Construction, Inc. is rapidly growing within the Mid-Atlantic region and across North America. The Senior Superintendent position based in Baltimore, MD offers the highly qualified construction professional an opportunity to lead field operations for ground improvement, deep foundations and earth retention projects. The Senior Superintendent, Foundations role supports field operations by coordinating schedules and resources, communicating scope to Foremen, and ensuring safety processes like JSAs and inspections are completed. Responsibilities include attending client meetings, managing materials and tooling needs, verifying daily QA/QC and as-built documentation, reviewing time and field reports, and working closely with the Project Manager. This position also helps develop Foremen and trade staff while contributing to efficient, safe, and consistent project execution.

What it takes:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience including as a superintendent in the deep foundation industry
  • Knowledge of deep foundation, earth retention and/or ground improvement construction techniques
    • Augercast piles, Rigid Inclusions, Aggregate Piers, Caissons/Drilled Shafts, Micropiles, Tiebacks, Anchors, Grouting, Driven Piles, and Earth Retention/Support of Excavation Systems
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
  • Ability to travel and commit to long term onsite projects
