Position Objective

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for managing the execution of the work in the field to maintain schedule, quality and budget. This position will supervise field logistics, manage the daily work of the Centric field team, and ensuring the successful completion of all subcontractor work. This position partners very closely with the Project Manager to ensure issues are quickly resolved, work is monitored for quality, field members operate within required safety guidelines and project deadlines are met.

Essential Job Functions

Project and Field Management
  • Have a thorough understanding of all construction documents
  • Review, coordinate, and understand submittals and shop drawings
  • Work with Project Manager to develop, update, and maintain the project schedule and three-week look-ahead schedules
  • Schedule, coordinate, and sequence all material deliveries, subcontractors, and vendors for efficient and safe completion of work in accordance with the project schedule
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage all required pre-installation meetings, permits, testing, and inspections
  • Coordinate, review, and inspect installed work to ensure compliance with construction documents
  • Resolve/diffuse issues quickly and effectively
  • Supervise completion of punch lists and final project close-out


Communication, Documentation & Project Controls
  • Produce and retain field reports and documentation (project schedules, cost reports, delay reports, work logs, and as-built documents)
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all project stakeholders
  • Participate in client meetings to report project progress and resolve outstanding production issues
  • Assist in facilitating weekly jobsite meetings
  • Understand the project budget and work with Project Manager to manage cost
  • Utilize required technology and computer software provided by Centric
  • Ensure all field personnel are working in compliance with OSHA and Centric safety requirements


Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum (15) years field supervision experience in commercial construction
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management/construction science, or extensive work experience in commercial construction
  • Intermediate knowledge of project management, scheduling software and Microsoft Office products
  • Must be proficient in reading and understanding plans, specifications, drawings and project schedules
  • OSHA-10, OSHA-30 and First-Aid/CPR certifications, preferred. OSHA-10 is required within 30 days of employment
  • Valid driver's license is required

  • Demonstrates confidence in spotting construction productivity issues and taking action to resolve them before the project is negatively impacted
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and face-to-face
  • Strong ability to build relationships, influence others into action, and work exceptionally well under pressure
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of materials and resource allocation, construction tools, and execution according to plan specifications
  • Embraces technology and is able to use it in ways that support project success and client satisfaction
