Full Job Description
Position Overview

in our Program Management department as a Senior Substation Construction Quality Inspector. This position provides Owner's oversight quality oversight of construction performed by contracted construction companies on Substation, Transmission, Distribution, and communications projects. This position requires a strong knowledge of implementation of engineering designs to power utility construction. 

Responsibilities
  • Validate construction deliverables on a regular basis per Company designs and standards on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Lead field inspections including substantial and final completion inspections with stakeholders.
  • Provide field support for project meetings and updates.
  • Schedule and coordinate with construction contractors to ensure inspection of work is completed on time and in conjunction with the construction schedule.
  • Provide quality oversight of all new construction.
  • Review contractor safe work practices.
  • Provide field support for project delivery team.
  • Participate in construction request for information and change order reviews to validate field conditions agree with contractor claims.
  • Author detailed inspection reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of Company work, environmental, and safety practices, including a working knowledge of line and substation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, regulations (OSHA), and safety requirements for electric distribution, transmission, and substation construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC and job/work management applications including AS8, Atlas, Mobile Maps & Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret construction and vendor drawings, feeder prints and job jacket contents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve problems promptly.
  • Required to have a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience with construction management in the power delivery industry (specific to transmission line, distribution line, or substation project work).
  • Good driving record.
  • Journeyman/Linemen License preferred.
