Job Description:

As a Systems Engineer Senior Specialist in our IR sensors business area, you will have the opportunity to work various programs solving our customer's most difficult technical challenges. A Development SME, who supports planning activities to address development activity processes and procedures. You could be the technical lead of the program team, perform technical planning, design, analysis, implementation, system integration, validation and verification. Analyses are performed at all levels to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. This position supports the Missile Solutions (MSL) Segment, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. Essential Functions:
• Systems engineering for EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red) sensor systems.
• Lead or support technical planning, system integration, validation, and verification activities in support of programs and development efforts.
• Expected to coach / mentor others on the team.
• Judgment and Decision Making - Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution.
• Systems Analysis - Determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes / performance.
• Systems Evaluation - Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance relative to the goals of the system.
• Lead or support across system development lifecycle.
• Customer Interaction - Technical Point of Contact to our customers and our suppliers.
• Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Physics, or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or
• Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Active DoD Security Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:
• Demonstrated experience within the EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red) sensor field
• Demonstrated experience in a technical discipline supporting EO/IR sensor or component work
• Experience writing BOEs and supporting proposals
• Demonstrated experience in the architecture, specification, implementation, simulation, test, verification, validation, and debugging
• Demonstrated complex problem solving and decision making - Able to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions; able to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well within and outside of the organization including customers, vendors, and leadership with minimal oversight
• Knowledge of military and/or NASA component specifications, design processes, and hardware test/verification procedures.
