Senior Specialist Enterprise Communications

Position overview:

As Senior Specialist Enterprise Communications on the Channels and Operations team within Enterprise Communications, you will play a key role in helping employees stay informed, aligned and connected to the company's purpose and priorities. You will collaborate with colleagues across the team to support the development and delivery of high-impact internal and external communications. Reporting to the director, Channels and Operations, you will help manage essential communications platforms - including the intranet homepage, digital signage, email distribution, and daily news monitoring and distribution. You will also contribute to project management and media relations, including issues management. This communications professional should have excellent writing, creative and technical skills, as well as high attention to detail.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Build and publish content for the company intranet and email communications. Partner with the lead intranet site editor on placement of news content, uploading and managing/publishing web content, choosing imagery to align with the stories, writing content and headlines, as well as building and distributing high-visibility email communications that support internal communications priorities.
  • Manage the editorial plan for the company-wide event calendar and digital signage. Oversee the intake of requests, edit submitted content, curate images and develop the content for the digital displays, and publish the final content. Support project management for enterprise communication campaigns and events, including town halls, leadership meetings and other activities and meetings.
  • Assists with tracking, measuring and analyzing audience engagement across all communications channels. Prepare reports for senior leadership.
  • Monitor daily news coverage about the company and insurance industry. Produce and distribute a roundup of news that is published daily on the intranet and emailed to senior leaders to help keep them informed about company and industry news. Compile an end-of-day news roundup of news about The Hartford, capturing any additional news about the company and distributed to a smaller audience.
  • Assist the media relations team with drafting press materials, media outreach and issues management.


Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications or equivalent experience.
  • Three+ years of related work experience in corporate communications, marketing or public relations.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly organized with a commitment to quality, accuracy and driving results with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to work collaboratively, is open to feedback and develops and maintains excellent working relationships.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with Adobe Photoshop, SharePoint (or other content management tools) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • Formal or informal experience analyzing data and recognizing trends to best provide recommended improvements.


Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$80,000 - $120,000
