What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Design and develop modules, tools, dashboards, and services for Technology Excellence within NewBETs organization which will improve quality of the engineering work and operational efficiency. Design and develop modules and REST based API services using languages such as Java, Python and SQL and utilize agile methodologies and existing frameworks applicable to the programming language. Write automated tests to ensure that these services and applications are developed with the highest quality. Collaborate with other engineering members within Walmart to provide Engineering and Operational Excellence capabilities. Use automation to deploy workloads to production in public cloud using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and frameworks.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area.

Skills required: Experience with Object Oriented Programming including Java and Python. Experience with architecture, tools and deployments in the hyper-scalers including GCP, Azure, and AWS. Experience developing with Spring framework and Spring Boot. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines. Experience with NoSQL technologies including Cassandra, Cosmos DB, and MongoDB as well as relational databases including Oracle or MySQL. Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience developing and maintaining test suites using frameworks including Junit. Experience with data pipelining via tools including Apache Kafka. Experience with log centric tools including Splunk to understand error trends and produce time series data. Experience with observability and monitoring tools including Dynatrace and AppDynamics. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $187,741/year to $234,000 year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
