Key Responsibilities- Build and ship product features end-to-end
- Ability to write clear and well defined design documentation
- Mentor fellow engineers
- Lead application architecture decisions
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software bugs
- Implement back-end APIs in Python and Node.JS
- Work on our React, Vue, Ember SPA front-ends
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers
- Participate in an Agile software development life cycle
- Write well-designed, maintainable & testable code
- Be product-minded and think about the customer
- Work with Python, Django, TypeScript, Node.JS, React, Ember, Docker, PostgreSQL, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.
- Contribute to open-source projects
Attributes of a Successful Candidate- 8+ years of experience developing web based applications
- Experience guiding high quality work through delivery across multiple developers
- Experience with a web framework such as Django or Rails
- Experience with a modern front-end framework (React, Vue, Ember, Angular, etc.)
- Experience writing REST / JSON APIs (Swagger / OpenAPI Spec)
- Experience writing software tests
- Ability to solve technical problems independently
- B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Motivation to work hard and always be learning
Preferred Skills- Experience with infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform
- Experience with Node.JS and modern ES6 or TypeScript
- Experience with React or Ember.JS
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS
- Experience working on SaaS web applications
- Bonus: Docker or Kubernetes experience
