Full Job Description
Who we are looking for:

We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer who is excellent at the craft and equally fluent at directing AI agents to do great engineering work.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design, build, and ship full-stack features across our platform - from .NET backend services and APIs to modern web front-ends. You'll work in an agentic-first workflow, using AI coding agents to plan, implement, test, and review code, while owning architecture, quality, and outcomes end to end.

You set the bar for how engineering is done here: you decompose ambitious problems into work an agent can execute, review and harden what the agent produces, and bring the judgment, system design, and accountability that turn AI-accelerated output into reliable, production-grade software.

What you will get to do:

Build full-stack software
  • End to End Ownership. Design and ship features end to end - backend services and APIs (preferably .NET / C#), data access, and modern web front-ends (e.g. Vue, React/TypeScript).
  • Own architecture and technical design for the features and services you lead, balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Engineering Excellence. Write clean, well-tested, observable code and uphold strong engineering practices: comprehensive testing, code review, CI/CD, and operational excellence.

Work agentically
  • Drive agents. Use AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code and similar tools) as a core part of your daily workflow to plan, implement, test, refactor, and review software.
  • Break complex work into clear, well-scoped tasks and write the specs, context, and guardrails that let agents produce high-quality results.
  • Rigorously review, test, and harden agent-generated code - you remain accountable for correctness, security, and quality.
  • Level up. Improve how the whole team works with agents: share patterns, build reusable prompts/tooling, and raise the team's agentic-engineering maturity.

Collaborate and deliver
  • Partner with Product, Design, and other engineers to turn ambiguous problems into shipped, customer-facing value.
  • Mentor peers, contribute to technical direction, and help establish standards for an agentic-first engineering culture.

What you will need to succeed:

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Hands-on experience building software with an agentic engineering approach - using AI coding agents/assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) to plan, implement, and review real production work, not just autocomplete.
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, data modeling, APIs, relational databases (e.g., SQL Server/PostgreSQL), testing, and CI/CD.
  • Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and comfort with modern delivery practices (containers, automated pipelines, observability).
  • Excellent judgment and code-review skills - able to critically evaluate and harden AI-generated code for correctness, security, and performance.
  • Clear communicator who can decompose ambiguous problems and collaborate effectively across a distributed, remote team.

Education and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production full-stack applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent practical experience considered

Nice to Have:
  • Experience writing prompts, custom agent tooling, MCP servers, or agentic workflows; familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) and RAG.
  • Background in B2B SaaS, document/process automation, or other data- and workflow-heavy enterprise domains.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance in multi-tenant SaaS (e.g., SOC 2).
  • Open-source contributions or a track record of raising engineering practices on a team

Worksite Location: This is a remote role. Candidates must be based in the United States. Regular travel is expected for partner meetings, business reviews, industry events, and company gatherings.

*MHC is based in the Twin Cities area, and candidates who currently reside in or near the area are preferred.
