Job DescriptionThe IT Analyst IV will serve as the primary technical lead and support specialist for the ERP Student Information System (SIS) with a specific focus in areas of student records. This role will involve designing, developing, testing, and documenting complex software solutions that operate independently or as part of a larger information system. The ideal candidate will be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on providing day-to-day technical support for the designated information systems.
Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and implementation of software programming solutions related to the ERP Student Information System
- Provide primary technical support for student records, addressing and resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
- Provide complex analysis, troubleshooting, and advanced problem-solving skills related to the ERP Student Information System and student records processes
- Ability to lead and manage projects impacting large groups of stakeholders independently and in collaboration with internal cross functional teams and external vendors
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure the seamless operation and integration of systems
- Test and document new software solutions, manipulating data as needed to ensure they meet functional requirements and maintain system integrity.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential improvements, and implement optimizations as necessary.
- Maintain system documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, test plans, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, and new functionality implementations as required.
- Performs emergency maintenance on mission-critical, time-dependent software systems
- Provides project status reports to internal and external management
- Prioritizes work based on user priorities, legal requirements, and availability of University resources
- Performs other related duties as required
QualificationsRequired Qualifications- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field and five years' experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience:
- Five years of IT application development and programming experience using Oracle, PL/SQL or SQL languages, oracle packages, procedures, and functions
- Three years' experience with enterprise software solutions
- Three years' experience as a software analyst
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate user-requirements into a deliverable product

- Higher Education or Student Information Systems experience
- Familiarity with Linux/bash scripting and automated job scheduling tools
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP systems
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated skills in both written and verbal communication
- Demonstrate organizational skills, including project and task management.
Work Location- Location: Knoxville, TN
- This is an on-campus position in Knoxville, Tennessee with some flexibility for hybrid/remote work.
Compensation and Benefits- UT market range: MR16
- Anticipated hiring range: $90,000 - 110,000
- Regular Full Time Exempt
