Job Description

Northwell is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer to join our dedicated Platform team. This pivotal role involves hands-on development, administration, and continuous improvement of our enterprise ServiceNow instance. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing complex solutions, developing robust integrations, and ensuring the platform's stability and performance. A strong focus will be placed on leveraging advanced capabilities such as Flow Designer, expert-level scripting, and the implementation/support of Now Assist. You'll drive best practices, conduct code reviews, and contribute significantly to our platform's evolution.

Highly Preferred Certifications:
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) - e.g., ITSM, Discovery, CMDB
  • ITIL v3 or v4 certifications


Highly Preferred Skills:
  • Proven track record of 3+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow platform development and administration.
  • Demonstrable expertise in CMDB utilization for robust solution design, implementation, and data model governance.
  • Extensive experience with server-side (Business Rules, Script Includes, Workflows) and client-side (Client Scripts, UI Policies) scripting on ServiceNow, utilizing JavaScript and Glide API.
  • Expert-level proficiency in designing and implementing complex solutions using ServiceNow Flow Designer.
  • Solid experience in developing and maintaining Service Catalog items, Record Producers, and Order Guides.
  • Significant experience designing, building, and supporting integrations with external systems using various methods (e.g., REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub).
  • Direct, hands-on experience with ServiceNow Now Assist implementation, configuration, and ongoing support.
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively and clearly relay information with immediate platform team and cross-functional teams - including implementation partners, and other development teams.
  • Experience presenting solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience participating in or leading platform upgrades, patching cycles, managing skipped records, and defect remediation.
  • Familiarity with code review processes and a strong commitment to upholding ServiceNow best practices and coding standards.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for platform incidents and defects, with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

  • Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
