Summary of Job Duties:
The Senior Service Line Administrator serves as the senior administrative executive responsible for the strategic, operational, financial, and growth performance of the Cardiovascular and Integrated Medicine Service Lines within the UAMS Integrated Clinical Enterprise (ICE). This position will report to the Service Line Director.

Working in a highly collaborative triad leadership model with the Physician Service Line Director and the Nursing Service Line Leader, the Senior Service Line Administrator is responsible for translating strategic vision into flawless execution while driving operational excellence, sustainable clinical growth, exceptional patient experience, workforce engagement, and outstanding financial performance across all inpatient, ambulatory, procedural, diagnostic, and ancillary services.

This position requires an accomplished healthcare executive with a demonstrated record of operational excellence, execution, innovation, and change management. The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and a proven ability to optimize operations, improve patient access, increase physician productivity, execute complex initiatives, and lead multidisciplinary teams within a large academic health system.

The Senior Service Line Administrator serves as a key operational and business development leader for both service lines. In partnership with physician, nursing, and executive leadership, this individual will proactively identify, evaluate, and execute strategic growth opportunities that expand access, strengthen referral networks, increase clinical volume, enhance market presence, improve the patient experience, and advance UAMS's position as Arkansas's premier academic health system.

The successful candidate is expected to be an entrepreneurial, execution-oriented healthcare leader who not only operates high-performing clinical programs but also identifies and capitalizes on opportunities for sustainable growth. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to consistently improve operational performance while expanding clinical services, increasing patient access, strengthening referral networks, and growing the overall impact of the Cardiovascular and Integrated Medicine Service Lines throughout Arkansas.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible healthcare leadership experience in a large, complex healthcare organization, preferably within an academic medical center.
  • Demonstrated success leading inpatient and ambulatory clinical operations.
  • Proven record of operational excellence, disciplined execution, and successful implementation of complex strategic initiatives.
  • Significant experience managing large operating budgets and financial performance.
  • Demonstrated success working in highly matrixed organizations and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or related field.
  • Experience leading cardiovascular, medical specialty, or procedural service lines.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience in performance improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with physician practice management and academic faculty operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Physician Service Line Director and Nursing Service Line Leader to establish and execute the strategic vision for the Cardiovascular and Integrated Medicine Service Lines.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable operational plans with defined milestones, timelines, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Serve as the executive leader responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of both service lines.

  • Identify clinical physician recruitment needs and partner with the appropriate College of Medicine department to recruit faculty.

  • Partner with Revenue Cycle leadership to improve financial performance.
  • Monitor coding accuracy, charge capture, billing compliance, collections, denials, and reimbursement.
  • Function effectively within a highly matrixed academic medical center.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing administrative leaders and staff.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, state and federal regulations, and institutional policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and strategic initiatives as assigned by ICE Executive Leadership in support of the mission and strategic priorities of UAMS.
