Job Description

CDM Smith currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager/Seller-Doer with previous experience selling and managing municipal water services projects to join our Western Canada group. In this position, your primary role will be to lead the sales and successful delivery of engineering projects for our clients in the following areas of practice: facility planning, drinking water and wastewater treatment, biosolids, pump stations, pipelines, and water and sewer systems.

Project managers are also provided with project control specialists, contract administrators, and quality management support throughout the project planning, delivery, and closeout lifecycle. As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
• Managing and serving as the lead Project Manager for water, wastewater, stormwater, conveyance, and general municipal engineering projects. • Collaborate with sales teams to pre-position for upcoming projects and create proposals in response to RFPs • Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future project needs. • Providing technical guidance, senior leadership, and mentoring engineering staff to enhance our water services design capabilities. • Being responsible for planning and execution of scope, schedule and budget for projects managed. • Completing Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews of key deliverables. • Assisting Client Service Leaders with technical marketing by meeting with clients in the region. • Participation in professional societies relevant to the industry. • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key decision makers in our clients' organizations. • Perform technical engineering project work. • Providing excellent client service that generates repeat business. • Supporting proposal development and participating in interviews for new projects you will help deliver.

Skills & Abilities

Significant experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, Significant experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices. Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Possesses exceptional deep and broad knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities. Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients. Ability to interact with many people, and process a large volume of requests as necessary. Excellent personal computer skills including expert knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Demonstrates superior organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree. 15 years of related experience. • PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list). • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
• P.Eng certification • Prior experience managing municipal water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance projects in British Columbia greater than $1m. • Excellent communication, networking, and team building skills.

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
