Full Job Description
Overview

The Research Department at Alnylam is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Scientist in Delivery Biology to support and advance targeted delivery strategies for oligonucleotides. This role will focus on discovering delivery solutions in priority tissue/cell types with compelling therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will have experience working on multiple tissue/cell types, and can apply to new tissues of interest. The focus will be on solving delivery for therapeutic targets of interest that advance as programs in clinical development. The individual will need excellent collaboration and communication skills, connecting interdisciplinary team members from medicinal chemistry, core delivery technology group and targets team. Expertise in oligonucleotide conjugate delivery is essential. This is a lab-based role at our Cambridge site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply assays and experimental strategies to enable tissue specific delivery of oligonucleotides conjugates
  • Design, execute, and interpret in vitro and ex vivo assaysto evaluate delivery efficiency and biological outcomes
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners focused on expanding targeted delivery into new cell types and tissues.
  • Transparently communicate data, conclusions, and experimental rationale to team members and leadership
  • Mentor and support the scientific development of junior scientists or research associates


Qualifications

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in biophparma setting
  • Expertise in tissues/cell biology with experience in working with multiple tissue types for cell/tissue specific delivery
  • Experience in the field of nucleic acids or antibody drug conjugates aimed at tissue specific delivery will be a plus
  • Demonstrated scientific rigor, attention to detail and data reproducibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

U.S. Pay Range

$126,400.00 - $189,600.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
