Job Summary:As a Senior Salesforce Developer/Engineer at Mercer Advisors, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and expanding our Salesforce ecosystem. This role demands advanced technical expertise to design, develop, and implement customized Salesforce solutions that drive operational efficiency and business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements, ensuring seamless integration and enhancement of our Salesforce environment. You will also leverage AI and machine learning capabilities within the Salesforce platform-including Salesforce Einstein and Agentforce-to deliver intelligent, data-driven solutions that enhance client engagement and advisor productivity.
Essential Job Functions for this role include:- Advanced Development: Design and build sophisticated Visualforce pages, custom controllers, and Lightning components using Apex and other Salesforce technologies.
- AI & Intelligent Automation: Design and implement AI-powered solutions using Salesforce Einstein (Einstein Prediction Builder, Einstein Discovery, Einstein Bots) and Agentforce to automate workflows, surface actionable insights, and enhance the advisor and client experience.
- Integration Management: Lead the development of complex integrations across the Salesforce platform, ensuring seamless data flow between Salesforce and other enterprise systems, including AI/ML services and third-party intelligent automation platforms.
- Customization: Create and maintain custom objects, code, and test methods to support various business processes and project requirements.
- Process Improvement: Establish and refine best practices for Salesforce technology deployments-including the responsible adoption of AI tools and generative AI features-ensuring effective project management and execution.
- Data Strategy & AI Readiness: Collaborate with data teams to ensure data quality, completeness, and governance standards necessary to support AI models, predictive analytics, and recommendation engines within the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Collaboration: Engage with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand project goals, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and deliver data-driven solutions. Evaluate and recommend AI use cases that align with business objectives and client needs.
- Project Management: Ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions by managing deadlines and providing clear, consistent communication on project progress.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and validation of deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and functional requirements. Validate AI model outputs for accuracy, bias, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior developers and team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment, including upskilling the team on AI capabilities and best practices within Salesforce.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the Wealth Management or Financial Services field preferred.
- Experience with Data Engineering (specifically in Python) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Salesforce development with a proven track record of complex project execution.
- In-depth knowledge of the Salesforce development lifecycle, including SDLC, Agile, and SCRUM methodologies.
- Strong experience with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and Salesforce APIs. Proven ability to develop custom solutions and integrations within the Salesforce platform.
- Proficient in Salesforce administration, including User, Role, Profile management, Workflows, Page Layouts, Validation Rules, and Security configurations.
- Experience with Salesforce Sandbox administration and deployment management.
- Experience with Salesforce Einstein tools (Einstein Prediction Builder, Einstein Discovery, Einstein Activity Capture, Einstein Bots) or Agentforce strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as predictive modeling, natural language processing, and recommendation systems, and how they apply within CRM environments.
- Experience integrating third-party AI or generative AI services (e.g., large language model APIs) into Salesforce workflows is a plus.
- Understanding of responsible AI principles, including data privacy, bias mitigation, and regulatory compliance considerations relevant to financial services.
Work Schedule:This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.
All roles classified as a non-exempt are required to record working time into the timekeeping system daily at the start and end of each workday plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.
Working Conditions:This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions. Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.

Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant's geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors' incentive compensation programs.
Base Pay Range
$115,000-$145,000 USD
