About this Role - Senior Safety & Health Coordinator
We are looking for a talented Senior Safety & Health Coordinator that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for electrical industrial construction and maintenance. The Senior Safety & Health Coordinator will work closely with the Manager Safety & Health, Safety Representatives, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.
What You'll Do
- Identifies health & safety policy needs by analyzing organizational results, job requirements, operational problems, compliance requirements, forecasts and business needs
- Develops and oversees the delivery of health & safety policies
- Involved in coordinator disaster/storm response
- Integrating safety into project plans, establishing safety goals, reinforcing safety policies and procedures, monitoring safety metrics
- Coordination of on-site safety meetings and conducting safety training
- Supporting incident investigation efforts
- Conducting and documenting on-site safety audits and providing safety technical support
- Recordkeeping and reporting
- Promoting proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions
- Supporting and coaching supervisors and employees
- Providing feedback to encourage learning, monitoring safety compliance and creating awareness
- Setting priorities that focus on continuous improvement
- Assistance with new hire general safety orientation
What You'll Bring
- Working knowledge of 29 CFR OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations
- Demonstrated ability to work with IBEW union craft personnel
- Ability to engage and consult with all levels of management; to establish working relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization
- Experience in developing and delivering safety & health policies and development programs
- Proven communication, organizational and persuasive interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to provide oversight to numerous policy and development initiatives
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs
- Ability to travel
- Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered
- 10+ years of construction safety experience
