Job DescriptionPosition Summary Senior Care Coordinator develops a comprehensive strategy designed to address and mitigate the consequences of injuries within the workplace. This strategy includes a series of coordinated activities aimed at ensuring the swift and successful recovery of injured employees, easing their safe return to work, and maintaining a connection to their roles and responsibilities during the recuperation period.
Position Details- Injury Prevention: Organize general health & wellness / injury prevention initiatives including blood drives. Work with projects and/or the CIP to set up onsite clinics and provide training on first aid, CPR, AED, onsite care, Workers Compensation, and injury prevention for the Site Safety Professionals and for the work crews.
- Case Initiation & Coordination: Accept and document new injury cases, determine work status, and coordinate with Site Safety, Medical Provider and Southland Risk Management for medical management.
- Medical Management: Liaise with attending physicians, request treatment plans, arrange second or referee examinations to resolve medical conflicts, and ensure compliance with Southland Risk Management.
- Leverage stakeholder network to serve as the primary point of contact between the injured worker, medical providers, employer, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Return-to-Work (RTW) Planning: Work with the employing agency to develop RTW plans, identify suitable positions, and work with Site Safety for accommodations of restricted duties.
- Coordinate with occupational health nurses and rehabilitation specialists to implement tailored care plans, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of medical visits, referrals, and case updates; ensure all documentation meets workers' compensation and OSHA requirements.
- Monitor discharged workers for continued health and satisfaction with services; close cases when recovery or long-term disability determinations are complete.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in healthcare, occupational health, or related field; occupational health nurse certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in workers' compensation, occupational health, or case management, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
- List no more than six (6) essential KSAs, including system-relevant technical skills.
- Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients facing significant injuries. Strong negotiation, and problem-solving abilities; knowledge of OSHA, workers' compensation, and disability management principles; ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Certifications: Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) certification or related case management credentials preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Virginia this ranges from $99,427.00 - $117,504.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
