Full Job Description
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the General Supervisor - Resources Geology of Technical Services, you will oversee all stages of resource estimation for one or more Agnico Eagle projects. You are curious, methodical, a good communicator and enjoy working in diverse geological environments. Working in Technical Services offers a wide range of challenges, being at the forefront of new work methodologies and having a direct impact on corporate development.

You will collaborate with other team members, who are specialists in their own discipline (database, 3D modeling, interpolation, geometallurgy) to obtain quality mineral resources using industry best practices. You may also assist various Agnico Eagle operation teams with specific mandates.

You may also be called upon to support strategic corporate initiatives in the continuous improvement of resource estimation processes. You will innovate and demonstrate leadership in implementing the latest geostatistical advances to maintain a solid foundation for the company's future operations.

In this key position, you must be able to correctly communicate your discipline during technical reviews or presentations to various stakeholders (corporate, operations, exploration, study team, etc.). You may be called upon to work on advanced exploration projects, open pits and underground mines, located in various regions or countries.

More specifically, you will:

  • Act as a Qualified Person (QP) on one or more Agnico Eagle projects;
  • Ensure or supervise 3D modeling, geostatistical processing and the development of various estimation parameters;
  • Participate in or supervise the production of technical studies (preliminary, pre-feasibility and feasibility) and provide technical reports in compliance with NI43-101;
  • Communicate adequately with members of the Geology team to produce quality model blocks;
  • Communicate adequately with Agnico Eagle's various exploration groups regarding the development of deposits for which he/she is responsible for mineral resources;
  • Coach and assist in the development of geologists within the team and other Agnico-Eagle divisions;
  • Provide relevant geological information to other technical service disciplines (mining engineering, infrastructure, environment and metallurgy) and provide support by answering their questions;
  • Participate in innovation projects or project evaluations.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering;
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the mining industry, including five (5) years as a resource geologist;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec (OGQ) or the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Must be able to sign as a Qualified Person (QP) under standard NI43-101;
  • Be able to contribute to the development, review, and strategic planning of litho-structural models supporting mineralized systems.
  • Must have solid experience in 3D modeling, resource estimation and geostatistics;
  • Be able to work within deadlines;
  • Knowledge of Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, Leapfrog Edge and Supervisor software is a considerable asset;
  • Available to travel occasionally;
  • Proficiency in the use of the English language as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language;
  • Good teamwork skills.


Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule;
  • Workplace: Possibility to work in one of Agnico Eagle's offices closer to your residence in Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, Mirabel, Sudbury or Toronto. There is a possibility to have a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an Agnico Eagle office and some days in telecommuting. As the group's main location is in Abitibi, a regular presence is expected in this region if the place of residence is located in another area.
