Overview

Due to an increased demand for our services in the United States and Canada, Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer / Subject Matter Expert to join our business in Oak Brook, IL, reporting to our Canadian operations in Cambridge, Ontario. This position is well-suited for a talented, highly experienced individual who is interested in helping us grow our oil and gas center of excellence, managing client programs and projects, and being a subject matter expert in oil & gas industry environmental matters, such as LNAPL characterization, hydrogeology, and regulatory and remedial strategies. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Project management, including planning and executing site investigation and remediation projects, managing budgets and schedules, ensuring quality and client satisfaction, and driving profitability.
  • Leading meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Mentoring and leadership of senior, mid-career, and junior staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Managing work to meet contract schedules, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and high standards of care.
  • Business development, including securing new clients, fostering long-term client relationships, leading proposal preparation, and developing and executing a strategic business development plan.
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals that reflect innovation and technical excellence.
  • Occasional fieldwork, including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment characterization, drilling oversight, contractor supervision, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client, project, office, and other business locations, as needed.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering, geology, or environmental science, or a related field of study (preferred)
  • Professional registration - (e.g. P.E./P.G.) (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of relevant consulting or client-side experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Strong expertise in site investigation & remediation for the oil and gas sector (required)
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and traveling to client sites as needed. (required)
  • Valid US driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

 

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

 

  • Minimum Salary: $123,235/year / Maximum Salary: $172,530 /year (Oak Brook, IL)
