Full Job Description
Position Summary
SC&A is seeking an experienced professional to lead and support efforts supporting federal clients like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and other federal agencies involved in the development of federal regulations. Successful applicants will have a science or policy background with demonstrated experience with the Administrative Procedures Act, regulations.gov, fdms.gov, dockets, public comment management, drafting of federal regulations, contributions to basis and purpose rationale for preambles, public hearings and informational meetings, and administrative records management.
This role is designed for someone who already knows the work - an established professional who values flexibility, collaboration, and the opportunity to contribute to projects with real environmental and public health impacts.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or contribute significantly to regulatory development projects
  • Manage teams of subject matter expert scientists and engineers, as well as policy specialists.
  • Support challenging projects that are often driven by court-ordered deadlines or Administrative priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to federal clients and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to strategic project planning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university
  • Significant experience leading or supporting regulatory efforts for federal programs or facilities (min. 15 years preferred).
  • Strong project management and client communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across distributed technical teams
  • Due to the requirements of federal contracts directly related to this role, U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance is required
Location & Work Arrangement
This position is remote (work from home) and open to qualified candidates located anywhere within the United States. While periodic travel may be required based on project needs, it is not anticipated.
We will consider full-time or part-time employment.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $175,000 (full time basis).
