Position Summary:Under the general direction of the Chief Estimator, the Quotations Specialist serves as a key contributor to the preconstruction and estimating process, independently leading the strategy, solicitation, evaluation and validation of vendor quotes and sub-contractor responses for projects assigned. The Quotations Specialist partners with group project managers, project executives, group executives, purchasing department, lead estimators, the Chief Estimator, pre-construction managers, and the Director of Pre-construction Estimating to drive informed business decisions and ensure the completeness, accuracy and competitiveness of project quotations and estimates.
What You Will Do- Accountable for maintenance and updates of a live quote log - providing a high level of analysis and discretion for each estimate.
- Independently solicit quotes and sub-contractor responses for several different disciplines and scopes of work for projects assigned.
- Read, interpret, analyze and understand construction drawings, specification documents, exhibits, bid forms, and addendums.
- Support estimators with coordinated details to vendors and sub-contractors based on contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Review quotes and subcontractor proposals returned for accuracy of response as it relates to structure, completeness, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications.
- Communicate and document vendor, sub-contractor questions clearly and concisely to the project team.
- Interpret results and flag risks and missing items including missing scope, unclear clarifications/deviations, and incorrect pricing breakouts.
- Select and list low responsive bidders based on experience and analysis and coordinate with the project team for deadline driven time sensitive responses.
- Attend, contribute, and be present in meetings. Posses demonstrated and professional level presentation skills.
- Foster existing vendor and subcontractor relationships. Build and maintain new vendor and subcontractor relationships.
- Continuous improvement: Identify reoccurring quote issues (missed deadlines, unclear requests, amount of time) and take charge of working through and implementing improvements.
- Maintain high level proficiency in Microsoft office products and Bluebeam.
- Adhere to the PRIME Safety Program, complying with safety regulations, procedures and safe work practices.
- Maintain a physical presence onsite and aid specific groups, managers and project management teams as needed.

What You Will Need to be Successful- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and one to three years of progressive related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Foundational knowledge of structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical documents.
- Familiarity with applicable NEC, local codes and construction methods.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, assess risk and make sound business recommendations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, prioritization, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- PRIME is a fast-paced environment, and a strong work ethic is required.
Special Requirements/Physical Demands/Working Conditions:Work is primarily performed in an office setting with minimal health or safety hazards. Noise level and temperature is moderate. Minimal lifting or climbing. This position is expected to be fully in-person, onsite, with some travel not limited to, other offices, work sites and local business errands. Requires operating office machines such as, but not limited to, computers, copiers, scanners, and phones.
Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as submittals, operations manuals and project schedules. Ability to write routine correspondence such as letters and memos. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and/or external clients of the firm.
Reasoning Ability and/or Critical Thinking:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction. Constructive thinking and alternative short- to long-term solutions must be considered. Action plans must be developed and implemented.
