Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Location: Fairport, NY
Reports to: Quality Manager

Your Impact

As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at Qualitrol, you will play a critical role in ensuring product and process quality across our manufacturing operations. You will drive continuous improvement, support production teams, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and customer requirements.

In this role, you will actively lead defect prevention efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions while partnering cross-functionally to enhance product reliability and manufacturability. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on quality performance and operational excellence on the shop floor.

What You’ll Do

Quality & Process Improvement

  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, DFMEA, and control plans to proactively mitigate risk
  • Perform workstation and process audits to ensure adherence to standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve First Pass Yield (FPY)

Production & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) validation activities
  • Investigate internal and external quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with supplier quality and design engineering teams to address upstream process improvements
  • Participate in daily management and Gemba activities to monitor work-cell performance
  • Communicate customer concerns and quality trends at the production level

Customer & Quality Systems

  • Support customer quality requirements, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements
  • Maintain proper documentation, traceability, and document control processes
  • Develop and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs)
Qualifications

Required
