We are looking for a Senior Purchasing OfficerAs a
Senior Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for the goods and services required by your assigned client group. You will assess client needs, negotiate and award contracts, and will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring contracts and suppliers.
You will provide procurement advice to support effective, cost-efficient solutions tailored to client needs, while ensuring compliance with applicable policies, legal requirements, and trade agreements.
Working collaboratively with internal and external partners, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement practices to ensure compliant, efficient solutions that provide optimal value to the Museum, while supporting other related activities.

You have at least three (3) years of relevant experience:- Procurement experience, preferably in a public sector, Crown corporation or government organization.
- Reviewing and analyzing client information (quotes, statements of work, and financial details).
- preparing, reviewing of requests for quotations, requests for proposals, competitive tendering processes, and Advance Contract Award Notices
preparing recommendations for approval from a contracting authority (initiation of the procurement process for goods and services, decisions regarding the process, and contract awards). - Working with division and supplier representatives.
- Leading autonomous work teams in competitive procurement situations.
- Reviewing bids solicitations to verify their compliance and facilitate the evaluation of proposals.
- Assessing and negotiating complex situations.
- In negotiating with industry suppliers including suppliers in the construction industry.
Knowledge of:- Policies, directives and regulations by central agencies governing procurement.
- Supply sources and the availability of goods and services
- Competitive bidding solicitations' practices and procedures, negotiation, pricing, and total cost analysis practices and procedures
- Market trends and their potential impact
- Sector-specific goods and services, as well as practices and procedures relevant to museums.
- Purchasing techniques and procedures
- The construction industry, consulting firms, architects, engineers, and related procurement practices
- Contract law and applicable federal and provincial regulations, as well as government policies and trade agreements.
Education: College or university diploma in business administration, procurement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is an asset.
Compensation: $ 79,134 to $ 97,933 (E6)
