We are seeking a strategic Senior Public WorksEstimator to join our Dublin team- a detail-oriented professional who thrives on precision, collaboration and delivering impactful results. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical expertise with a deep understanding of public works construction. Success in this role requires the ability to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates while collaborating closely with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers. This role offers the opportunity to influence project outcomes, support bid strategies and contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Estimating & Cost Analysis
  • Review specifications, drawings, and project site conditions to develop accurate estimates.
  • Analyze and build estimate data related to labor, materials, equipment, location and other cost factors.
  • Apply mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy of estimated costs.
  • Utilize historical cost data as a benchmarking tool.
  • Review quantity take-offs to verify accuracy of estimate inputs.

Bid Strategy & Competitive Analysis
  • Analyze alternative construction methods and approaches to improve bid competitiveness.
  • Evaluate projects risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential construction challenges.

Vendor & Subcontract Coordination
  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and scope details.

Internal Collaboration & Reporting
  • Present estimate/proposal to management for review and validation.
  • Communicate bid information and project scope to field operations during pre-construction meetings.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent related work experience.
  • 8 years of public estimating experience.
  • Prior experieince as a Project Manager/Engineer and/or take-off, is a plus.
  • Ability to manage and produce multiple estimates concurrently.
  • Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid, Primavera Scheduling software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of Caltrans and FAA construction methods and principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with internal and external personnel of all levels.
