Senior Property Tax Analyst - Rochester, NY 14423

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business.

Minimum 3 years' experience in property tax or similar role

This position requires 3-4 days per week onsite presence in Rochester NY.

Opening for a Senior Property Tax Analyst reporting directly to the Property Tax Manager. As the Senior Property Tax Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for timely and accurate preparation and filing of property tax returns, business licensing, and other compliance duties for all retail locations within the United States. This position requires 3-4 days per week onsite presence in Rochester NY.

Major Activities

File personal property tax returns, on a timely basis, by gathering and manipulating data using Microsoft tools, ensuring completeness and accuracy

Manage property tax obligations, including coordinating, tracking and processing payments

Review, monitor, and respond to all taxing jurisdictions inquiries regarding property taxes and support audits

Continue to integrate property tax software in house,

Assist with forecasting property tax liabilities

Review all assessments for accuracy and identify opportunities for costs savings, including appeals

Work on any special projects as assigned

The Successful Property Tax Analyst will possess the following competencies, education and experiences:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business.

Minimum 3 years' experience in property tax or similar role

Specialized Trade Requirements and Other Job-Related Skills

Organized and excellent time management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple deadlines, changing priorities and large volumes of returns.

Takes initiative and ownership and executes independently in assigned work area.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Use applicable office terminology, forms, documents, and procedures in the course of the work. Respond tactfully, clearly, concisely, and courteously to issues, concerns, and needs to all stakeholders.

Proactively propose solutions when dealing with challenging situations, focusing on identification and remediation of root causes.

Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls

Analytical, with an ability to research, interpret and apply technical guidance to business situations.
