Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

McCarthy is seeking a Senior Project Scheduler to support full-cycle project scheduling for the Nebraska market. This Senior Project Scheduler will support change management as well as help to develop, track and update schedules from inception to completion of projects. The Senior Project Scheduler will report directly to the Scheduling Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate effectively with all field staff members, scheduling consultant and the client to ensure efficient and accurate schedule development and updates
  • Meet with Subcontractors as required in development of baseline schedule, monthly updates and recovery schedules
  • Identify and communicate significant schedule risks to Staff and appropriate regional personnel
  • Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Principles and experience to develop Work Breakdown Structures and work with project staff to facilitate development of the project schedule.
  • Use EVMS to evaluate the performance of the project by analyzing significant schedule, budget and/or resource variances from the baseline plan
  • Forecast impacts of variances to aid in the management of the schedule
  • Ability to use the cost-loaded schedule as the basis of billings
  • Utilize Primavera P6 scheduling software to update and document schedule performance
  • Monitor and status schedule progress
  • Analyze delivery impacts, time extensions, claims, etc. through the use of schedule fragnets
  • Implement controls to avoid claims
  • Interact with scheduling consultant in schedule reviews, claims analysis, etc. Perform cash flow projections / analysis on a monthly basis
  • Perform manpower projections / analysis
  • Participate in regional training seminars
  • Train/Lead classes and facilitate learning of the scheduling systems amongst the project staff

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required or equivalent years of experience in Scheduling
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction scheduling required
  • General knowledge of construction principles/processes, field operations and ability to read construction plans
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6
  • Ability to schedule in Design/Build or IPD environment and create 4-D simulations with schedule
  • Experience with delay claims, time extension requests, schedule analysis and subcontractor productivity/limitations
  • Ability to motivate teams through lead planning exercises (pull scheduling, VICO)
  • Ability to "VE" schedule to its shortest responsible duration
