The Transportation Business Unit is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Boise, ID.

The Senior Transportation Project Manager will lead the delivery of complex transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Inland Northwest. This position serves as a senior leader within DEA's Transportation Business Unit andis responsible forthe successful management of large, multi-disciplinary transportation projects involving public agencies, consultant teams, contractors, and community stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience leading major transportation initiatives, including highways, bridges, transit, and other public infrastructure projects. This individual willleveragestrong technicalexpertise, program management skills, and client relationships to successfully deliver projects while contributing to strategic growth and business development efforts.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a pursuit champion and project manager for transportation projects, including bridge, roadway, highway corridor, and interchange planning and design.
  • Lead successful project delivery by managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, stakeholder coordination, and contract administration.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality oversight, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and DEA quality management standards.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineering, environmental, planning, right-of-way, public involvement, and construction professionals.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including forecasting, invoicing, accounts receivable, subconsultant management, and project closeout.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business, long-term partnerships, and client satisfaction.
  • Partner with public agencies, regulatory partners, community stakeholders, and elected officials to advance project objectives.
  • Support business development efforts through strategic planning, client engagement, proposal development, and project pursuits.
  • Attract, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing staff while fostering career growth and future leadership development.
  • Partner with the Group Leader to achieve Business Unit goals related to growth, sales, backlog, utilization, profitability, employee engagement, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to firmwide tools, processes, policies, and project delivery standards.
  • Contribute to transportation practice growth, strategic initiatives, and company-wide leadership efforts.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineeringorrelatedfieldrequired.
  • Idaho State Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to obtain
  • within 6 months of employment.
  • Minimum 20 years of progressively responsible transportation engineering,
  • project management, or program management experience.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale transportation infrastructure projects
  • and programs for public-sector clients.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder environments involving multiple agencies, public involvement, environmental processes, and consultant teams.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methods, contracting approaches, risk management, project controls, andfinancial management.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and fostering collaborative project environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license in Idaho
  • Familiarity with National Bridge Inspection coding, elements, and conditions.
