ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Project Manager to be the recognized environmental engineering expertise. This role manages multi-year environmental remediation projects for various federal agencies. The role supports remediation business development opportunities in the Western U.S. including CA, OR, WA and NV.
Job Functions:
- Leads engineering efforts on environmental remediation projects.
- Provides daily direct project support to DoD and Federal government clients.
- Manages preparation of subcontractor scopes of work and specifications.
- Plans, schedules, and manages project timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assists project managers and engineers with technical issues, scheduling, and cost control measures.
- Develops and presents reports and presentations defining project progress, challenges, and solutions for clients.
- Supports deliverable quality control.
- Solicits, evaluates, and procures subcontractors for investigation or remediation projects.
- May serve as task or project manager for projects with an engineering focus.
- Works with technical teams, Proposal Management, and Business Development staff to support opportunities development.
- Instrumental in developing and maintaining long-term relationships with key clients by providing technical expertise, attending client meetings, and leading project development pursuits
- Provides project management support as needed, including scheduling, budget oversight, and scope management.
- Supports engineering evaluation of environmental project submittals and ensures submittals meet design specifications.
- Visits project sites to ensure activities and performance meet contractual technical requirements and client expectations and recommends corrective actions if needed.
- Provides technical leadership to a diverse team ranging from junior to senior level staff, including monitoring, mentoring, and supporting the growth of team members.
- Ensures Tepa Core Values are being practiced by all Tepa staff.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited college or university
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
- 10+ years of environmental engineering experience providing engineering expertise to projects under CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action and/or state regulatory programs.
- Capability of supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability and desire to build rapport with field staff, office staff, clientele, Tepa management staff, subcontractors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform at a high level under stringent project deadlines
- Ability to prioritize required tasks to meet multiple schedule deadlines
- Awareness of potential clients, competition, and teaming partners
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
- Dedicated attention to detail
Preferred, not required- Master of Science degree in Engineering, or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited college or university
- Federal and DoD project management experience
