Job Description

Select Chemistry's Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for driving capital projects by holding safety, quality, and efficiency with utmost importance. Manager will be accountable for all onsite personnel supporting projects by supporting the delivery of safe, optimal and environmentally sound operations, using basic technical and analytical capabilities to improve operational performance. Seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with a growth mind set and track record of exceptional delivery in a dynamic work environment. Your work will focus on leading Select Chemistry's Capital and Expense efforts.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
  • Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products as our highest priority.
  • Working knowledge of relevant standards for mechanical equipment in chemical plant environment including process piping, pressure vessels, and storage tanks.
  • Manage and coordinate third party services and contractors
  • Assist in design work with engineering and manufacturing on project work
  • Cost estimation for budgeting in capital requests
  • Identify, evaluate, develop, specify, justify, install, and start-up process improvements to enhance operating reliability, reduce manufacturing costs, and reduce energy usage.
  • Oversee projects at facilities with onsite presence during installations
  • Manage projects from conception through commissioning, including coordination with city officials, contractors, and plant personnel.
  • Conduct PSSR and MOC meetings
  • Represent and/or assist production in matters of evaluation, selection and coordination and control of vendors supplying necessary operating services, consulting services, materials, equipment and other needs of operation.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management Discipline (Preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in capital projects, maintenance, reliability, or related engineering field.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook and query tools.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Change promoter who can develop and motivate others.
  • Hands on attitude to get things done with the ability to manage change to a successful conclusion.


Desired experience
  • 5-10 years of Project Management experience
  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical layouts
  • CAD Experience and/or ability to read drawings

Physical Demands and Exposures
  • This position works inside a climate-controlled environment. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.
  • Monday - Sunday, overtime as required (24hr business operations).
  • Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
