Job Description

The Project Execution Office (PEO) is a key engine in our journey towards a global, leading project-centric product-development organization, by owning project execution with talent pool of project manager and enhancing their capabilities. The Senior Project Manager belongs to PEO and is responsible for planning and executing large, complex product development / technology development projects through the full project lifecycle from requirements analysis to launch.

All projects will involve leading multi-functional & global core teams with both internal and external team members. Responsibilities include the planning of all program subsystem and project deliverables, synchronization, and prioritization of Core Team activities. Scope includes driving the team in the development of a business case, management of the overall program schedule, resource requirements, risk assessment and project investment analysis and budget. The senior project manager is responsible for directly and indirectly driving project execution and all development efforts (internal and external) while ensuring that all project deliverables and efforts are connected and meet internal and external customer requirements and objectives.

Job Duties

Responsibilities of Senior Project Manager include:
  • Project planning including:
    • Project charter: Creates charter development, sets objectives, plans and schedules project timeline
    • Budget management: Develops and manages project budgets, including resource loading, external expenses, and capital requirements.
  • Project execution management including:
    • Ensures requirements: Ensures project activities meet customer requirements and follows Olympus R&D Product Development Process (PDP).
    • Prioritization: Continuous prioritization of team member activities and follow-up on actions
    • Risk management and escalation: Proactively identify and assess areas of risk, escalate issues in a timely manner and proactively propose solutions
    • Intervention: Implements and manages project changes to achieve timely project outputs.
  • Stakeholder Management including:
    • Partners with functional leadership (within and outside R&D): ensure appropriate project resource planning, execution, visibility, and tracking as per program dynamics.
    • Project status reporting: Provide regular project updates (written and verbal) to appropriate management board; depending on type of project.
  • Manage overall aggregated Beacon budget by partnering with individual Remediation Project Managers and CAPA Owners / Project Managers (who own the individual budgets), the Beacon Finance team, and myself
  • Manage overall Beacon resourcing outcomes by partnering with individual Remediation Project Managers and the gPMO Portfolio Management team
  • Align budget and resource content to assess program risks
  • Create program sequencing of Remediation Projects within budget and resource constraints
  • Partner with other Project Beacon Project Managers, including the following
  • This role will work closely with one Portfolio Managers (as a dotted line report) who is accountable for compiling and keeping accurate project charters and critical budget information from each of the Product Remediation Project Managers


Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of 6 years of cross-functional project experience, with a demonstrated track record of bringing products from concept to market release.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulated industry.
  • Experience with applicable FDA/PMDA guidance, ISO 13485 regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively deliver engaging and impactful training sessions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies, tools, and techniques, including, but not limited to: Project and Portfolio management tools. Strategic Business Planning. Resource management. Working within and leading the Core Team Model. Lean and Agile Product Development methodologies.


Preferred:
  • Advanced degree preferably in Bio Medical Engineering, Med Tech, Business.
  • Preferably Medical Device or Med Tech R&D/engineering.
  • Project Management qualifications desirable e.g., PMP/Prince II certifications or equivalent.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in this location is $137,657.00 - $192,722.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
