Reports to: Project Engineering Manager

In the role of Project Manager, you need to be a high-energy, detail-oriented, and confident professional with an infectious enthusiasm for technology and drive to succeed. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of bridge crane systems, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards, so being organized and friendly is a must. The role involves working closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate the successful execution of crane-related projects, from the initial concept and design phases through to final commissioning. Additionally, you will need to establish long-term, positive, and fun relationships with clients, co-workers, and outside resources.

Project Manager Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of crane system projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet project milestones.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, vendors) to define project scope and requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical specifications.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Provide engineering support for crane system design, including mechanical, electrical, and structural aspects.
  • Review and approve design drawings, schematics, and technical specifications for crane systems.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure effective integration of components and systems.
  • Oversee the installation of crane systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and project requirements.
  • Manage the commissioning process, including testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to on-site teams during the installation and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure all crane systems projects adhere to relevant industry standards, such as CMAA, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards during the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and submit project documentation, including technical reports, compliance certificates, and test results.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and resolving any issues or concerns.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to source materials and components for bridge crane systems.

Project Manager Requirements
  • KNOWLEDGE: A Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on crane systems. A bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, construction management, or related background, or combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field is preferred.
  • SKILLS:
  • Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects, including budget management, scheduling, and client coordination.
  • Strong understanding of bridge crane design, including structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (CMAA, ASME, ANSI, OSHA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with customers, sales staff, and internal team members.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience with estimating and technical expertise in metal fabrication and machining.
  • Working knowledge of CAD to process customer drawing files for quoting.
  • Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment in which fast response is normal - where the lead time is critical on quotes and delivery.
  • Site visits, field inspections, and collaboration with construction and installation teams will be required.
  • Some travel may be necessary to client locations for project coordination and oversight.
