Full Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects within a hands-on subcontractor environment.

This role is designed for an experienced Project Manager who is ready to take full ownership of project execution, operational performance, and overall project outcomes across a portfolio of active jobs. You will oversee complex HVAC systems, piping installations, and field operations while operating independently in a fast-paced contractor environment where leadership, accountability, and disciplined execution are critical.

The ideal candidate brings strong commercial mechanical construction experience, understands both field and financial operations, and can confidently lead projects from preconstruction through closeout with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects simultaneously from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Manage field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff across multiple active job sites
  • Oversee complex HVAC systems, piping scopes, and mechanical installations with strong technical understanding
  • Drive project schedules, cost control, forecasting, and overall project execution
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks, coordination issues, and field challenges before they impact project outcomes
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and company leadership
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents to support accurate field execution
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead procurement strategy, subcontractor coordination, and material/equipment planning
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor project progress, quality, scheduling, safety, and field coordination

Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience managing commercial HVAC or mechanical construction projects
  • Strong background in commercial HVAC systems required - residential-only experience will not be considered
  • Experience working for a mechanical contractor, HVAC subcontractor, or design-build mechanical firm required
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing field teams and subcontractors within hands-on contractor environments
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and construction specifications
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling and cost control software including Microsoft Project or similar platforms
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, hands-on small-company contractor environment
