JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

Our Global Medical & Scientific Affairs Team has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager, Clinical Research. This role will be located in our Princeton, New Jersey office on site. This role is based in our Abbott Point of Care(APOC) Division. APOC is a global leader in providing critical medical diagnostic and data management products for rapid blood analysis that are intuitive, reliable, and cost-effective. Our i-STAT System is an advanced, portable diagnostic tool that provides real-time, lab-quality results within minutes to accelerate patient-care decision-making. The i-STAT System has the industry9s most comprehensive menu of tests in a single, with-patient platform, including tests for blood gases, electrolytes, chemistries, coagulation, hematology, glucose, and cardiac markers. By delivering lab-quality results in minutes, our i-STAT System fosters a collaborative, patient-centered environment while driving improved operational performance.

What Youll Work On

The Senior Project Manager, Clinical Research, will work closely with the Scientific Affairs Manager and Scientific Affairs Director to facilitate cross-functional coordination and ensure the efficient execution, monitoring, and reporting of all Scientific Affairs studies. In addition, they will liaise with cross-functional team members including clinical, regulatory, quality, legal, and supply chain, and will be responsible for managing individual study budgets/milestone payments.

In addition:

  • Coordinate end-to-end research study operations for Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) and Collaborative Research Studies (CRS), including proposal review, contracts, study start-up, material shipments, budget management, and study closeout.

  • Ensure compliance and audit readiness by maintaining study documentation, conducting investigator/debarment reviews, documenting communications, supporting SOP updates, and maintaining quality system requirements.

  • Manage financial oversight including Fair Market Value assessments, study budgets, invoice processing, milestone payments, forecasting, and financial tracking/reporting.

  • Oversee study logistics and site support by coordinating study supplies, regulatory labeling requirements, site instructions, training documentation, and collaboration with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, and Scientific Affairs teams.

  • Support Scientific Affairs initiatives including medical education and writing grants, KOL and advisory board contracting, meeting logistics, reporting for review committees, and other activities delegated by Scientific Affairs leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree

  • 10+ years of clinical research/medical affairs/project management experience.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with clinical trials including investigator-initiated research and collaborative research studies.

  • Knowledge and experience in oversight of clinical studies, understanding of statistical techniques, tracking clinical studies, and related publications.

  • Understanding of the clinical laboratory, assay/instrument principles involving in vitro diagnostic products.

  • Form and develop long-term strategic and professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.

  • Strong communication skills demonstrated in publications, presentations, etc. including the ability to confidently speak in public, and lead meetings and group discussions.

  • Ability to work independently and in groups.

  • Demonstrates leadership skills, initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Willing and able to travel up to 10 -15% of the time to meet investigators and clinical trial staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's, PhD, or MD)

  • Experience with managing publications

  • Experience running clinical trials in international geographies

The base pay for this position is

$86,700.00 6 $173,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
