Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead and grow our Building Enclosure Design Practice. This individual will serve as a technical and project leader responsible for managing building enclosure consulting and design projects from pursuit through completion. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience with roofing, waterproofing, exterior wall systems, fenestration, façade rehabilitation, building enclosure commissioning, and construction administration

This position offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, mentor technical staff, develop client relationships, and contribute to the strategic growth of a rapidly expanding building enclosure practice.

Responsibilities

General:
  • Manage all aspects of a large scale and complex project.
  • Works with client or NAM to define project scope, schedule and budget
  • Leads interactions with client and stakeholders to ensure their goals are being considered in execution of the work
  • Design, communicate, and implement a project plan for completing a project.
  • Resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure targets are met.
  • Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for the project.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Coordinates with APR to ensure appropriate oversight is in place and sufficient time allowed for quality reviews
  • Coordinates with accounting for financial management of business intelligence, invoicing and collections
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices. Engage APRs on projects at their onset.


Technical:
  • Perform and oversee:
    • Building enclosure assessments
    • Roof condition surveys
    • Façade evaluations
    • Roof/Facade/Waterproofing design
    • Window and curtainwall assessments
    • Moisture intrusion investigations
    • Construction quality assurance reviews
  • Develop repair documents, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Review drawings, shop drawings, submittals, and mock-up testing.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding:
    • Roofing systems
    • Waterproofing systems
    • Exterior wall assemblies
    • Fenestration systems
    • Air and water barriers
    • Sealants and flashing systems
    • Drainage and moisture management systems

Business/Staff Development:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, architects, contractors, developers, facility managers, and institutional clients.
  • Prepare proposals, fee estimates, and technical presentations.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the building enclosure market.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives and practice development efforts.
  • Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.
  • Provide training on building enclosure principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practices by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and a minimum of 5 years' related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years' related experience.
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE), or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed
  • RRC, RRO, RWC, RBEC, or REWC credential from IIBEC.
  • Authorized Project Reviewer status in two years.
