Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving supplier footprint optimization initiatives for BD's Pharmacy Automation business. This role leads complex end-to-end supplier transfer and sourcing optimization projects that improve cost competitiveness, supply chain resilience, scalability, and business performance.

Acting as the central point of coordination across Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Supply Chain, and external suppliers, the Senior Project Manager connects business objectives to execution, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Success in this role requires strong project leadership, cross-functional influence, governance, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while balancing business priorities, risk mitigation, operational continuity, and long-term sourcing strategies.

This position is a limited term assignment which will include benefits such as (medical, health, dental, 401K). Eligibility for these benefits will be based on the eligibility requirements as determined by the BD Total Rewards policy, and is anticipated to last approximately through 9/29/29.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end supplier footprint optimization and supplier transfer projects aligned with category and sourcing strategies.
  • Develop project roadmaps, implementation plans, milestones, governance structures, and success metrics.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities that improve cost competitiveness, supply continuity, supply chain resilience, and business growth.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D.
  • Serve as the central project leader, connecting stakeholders, facilitating decisions, resolving issues, and maintaining alignment throughout project execution.
  • Manage supplier qualification, validation, onboarding, and operational readiness activities.
  • Drive risk identification, mitigation planning, issue resolution, and escalation management.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, milestones, timelines, and financial impacts to leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Support supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and onboarding activities in partnership with Procurement.
  • Establish sustainable governance and performance management processes to ensure successful implementation and long-term supplier performance.
  • Lead change management efforts and influence stakeholders across a global matrix organization.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading complex supply chain, sourcing, supplier transfer, or optimization projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing supplier transfer and supply base optimization initiatives.
  • Strong project management expertise, including project planning, governance, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results without direct authority.
  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners with an end-to-end business and supply chain perspective.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, supplier qualification, validation, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across a global matrix organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects to completion.
Preferred
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent).
  • Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier transitions, and supply chain transformation initiatives in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with mechanical and electro-mechanical products and supply chains.
