Opportunity OverviewThe Senior Project Leader leads the execution of large-scale complex projects by defining and executing activities to deliver on scope. Lead multiple workstreams or projects with clearly defined scope and oversight by defining and managing project activities, managing timelines, and ensuring alignment with business and technology goals. This role supports both traditional (waterfall) and agile (iterative) delivery models, facilitating planning, execution, and delivery across cross-functional teams. In an agile environment, the Project Leader leads periodic planning, standups, and managing dependencies. This requires strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to support business leaders and ensure successful delivery on outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead large-scale complex projects and contribute to large-scale initiatives; lead project coordinators and/or project team members in completion of medium to large-scale projects.
- Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across multiple areas, outside vendors and project leaders/teams who are working on a project.
- Facilitate project start-up activities, including requirements gathering, resource onboarding, and project documentation.
- Monitor, track, and report progress against project plans, including scope, schedule, cost, resources, and quality through dashboards and reporting against defined metrics.
- Plan for, identify, analyze, and resolve project risks and issues, and facilitate resolution efforts. Escalate unresolved or high-impact risks and issues appropriately
- Execute planning and facilitation activities to ensure delivery on outcomes.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment across workstreams and/or other projects.
- Ensure the development and execution of testing strategies, including defect tracking and resolution.
Position RequirementsWhat you Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 6 + years of experience in project management, including waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Previous leadership experience
- Superior presentation skills
- Working knowledge of enterprise project tools such as Clarity and Jira.
- Ability to independently identify, prioritize, monitor, communicate, and/or resolve elements that can impact a project.
- Superior organization and coordination skills
- Strong communication skills
- MBA or graduate degree preferred
- Project Management Certification, such as PMP and/or Agile Certifications, such as SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Practioner preferred
