As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, leading, and delivering transformative land development and municipal infrastructure projects that support growing communities, institutional campuses, commercial developments, industrial facilities, and resource-sector operations.

Working alongside multidisciplinary specialists across Ontario and Canada, you'll leverage the strength of one of the country's largest Transportation & Infrastructure practices while helping grow local capabilities in Northern Ontario. Your Impact
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of land development and municipal infrastructure projects from concept planning through detailed design and construction.
  • Build trusted relationships with municipal, industrial, development, transportation, and public-sector clients while providing strategic technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Drive project success by managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, quality, and risk management activities.
  • Navigate municipal approvals and regulatory processes, helping clients move projects efficiently from vision to reality.
  • Support the growth of WSP's Transportation & Infrastructure business in Sudbury and across Northern Ontario through client engagement and business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and designers, fostering technical excellence and supporting career growth within the team.
  • Collaborate with transportation, environmental, planning, geotechnical, water resources, and other specialists to deliver integrated solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and digital delivery best practices while maintaining the highest standards of engineering quality and compliance.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience delivering land development and municipal engineering projects within Ontario.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario with demonstrated experience working with municipalities, agencies, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario's land development, municipal servicing, and development approvals processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D within multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Proven experience leading project teams, managing client relationships, and delivering successful project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated business development experience including proposal preparation, fee development, client engagement, and pursuit strategy support.
  • Experience supporting municipal, industrial, transportation, land development, mining, or resource-sector projects is considered a strong asset.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence (or ability to obtain one) and willingness to travel periodically throughout Northern Ontario.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 - $162,800
MB & ON: $112,100 - $154,400
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 - $147,400
