Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Uniontown, OH. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineering professional to lead a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) in developing next-generation Ice Protection, Potable Water, and Specialty Heated products. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Program Management Team (PMT) and key engineering functions to drive full lifecycle project execution by preparing and monitoring project schedules, coordinating deliverables and personnel, leading teams to overcome challenges, and ensuring all tasks remain within scope and budget.

This is an onsite position in Uniontown, Ohio.

What You Will Do:
  • Serve as the technical primary point of contact for the Project Management Team (PMT)
  • Plan and execute projects while ensuring adherence to internal and external program requirements across all phases of the lifecycle.
  • Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM) activities, including schedule and cost performance (SPI/CPI) reporting, and contribute to the development of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for small to medium-sized programs.
  • Lead weekly project reviews to monitor progress, assess status, and evaluate operational performance, while identifying risks, barriers, and mitigation strategies.
  • Enable clear communication and alignment among leadership, engineering teams, and functional organizations to achieve project objectives.
  • Act as a cross-discipline facilitator, fostering alignment with project goals and objectives both internally and externally.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and address project challenges by recommending and implementing effective solutions.
  • Analyze performance trends, cost data, resource needs, and forecasting reports to support informed decision-making and optimize project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with company processes, AS9100 standards, and support Project Management/Engineering discipline initiatives to enhance project execution.
  • Participate in group meetings, teleconferences, and required training sessions.
  • Maintain the flexibility to travel up to 15% as needed.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Candidates must be U.S. Person - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Integrated Master Schedules software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems, and/or other project management tools.
  • Prior experience with the systems and/or component development process, including requirements capture, design, integration, and verification/validation is required.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Prior experience in an aerospace or defense engineering environment.
  • Proven leadership of large-scale programs throughout the full development lifecycle, with strong proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile), risk & opportunities management, change management, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience presenting technical data to program management and executive leadership.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
