Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Control Specialist to support ongoing operations in Aiken, SC.

Provide comprehensive cost, schedule, baseline and EVMS Project Controls services on assigned SRNS Project Teams. Project Controls support services include executing the process responsibilities associated with organization, development, analysis, implementation and maintenance of program/project controls applications and measures necessary for decision making and monitoring of planning, scheduling, cost engineering and trend engineering established objectives.

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

Provide comprehensive cost, schedule, baseline and EVMS Project Controls services on assigned SRNS Project Teams. Project Controls support services include executing the process responsibilities associated with organization, development, analysis, implementation and maintenance of program/project controls applications and measures necessary for decision making and monitoring of planning, scheduling, cost engineering and trend engineering established objectives.

Services would include preparing schedules and performance monitoring status and management reports which identify variances in work execution strategy, provide timely feedback and recommend solutions to management to improve or mitigate problems affecting cost, schedule or estimating issues throughout the life cycle of a project, program or other work activity. Project Controls services will be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

Education Requirements

  • Master's degree in business, construction management , technical, or engineering, or a related area and five years of practical experience in project controls, including both cost and schedule control or related areas.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management , technical, or engineering, or a related area and seven years of practical experience in project controls, including both cost and schedule control or related areas.
  • An Associate's degree in business, construction management, technical, or engineering, or a related area and eleven years of practical experience in project controls, including both cost and schedule control or related areas.
  • A high school diploma and fifteen years of practical experience in project controls, including both cost and schedule control or related areas.


Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
  • Candidate must demonstrate proficient ability and knowledge in the development of cost and schedule baselines, milestone schedules, work breakdown structures, spend out plans to establish optimum conditions and effective utilization of resources and facilities, including equipment, manpower, and funding.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge of DOE 413 and Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in the use of Primavera P6 scheduling software and cost processing software (Cobra preferred).
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate their ability to use advanced functions and features of the Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Candidate must have strong problem solving, analysis and interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate must have the ability to walkdown and interface with personnel and systems in the field when required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred.
  • Previous DOE/NNSA work experience.
  • Ability to use Acumen Fuse, PeopleSoft, and Oracle's OBIEE is desirable.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in the use of cost processing software.


Work Schedule

A 40 hour work week is scheduled. Client utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes Client holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
