Job Summary

Join the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) and play a role in supporting student success through the School-Based Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (SMAA) program. As a Senior Project Accountant, you will oversee complex accounting functions, including grant and fund accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, auditing, budgeting, and fiscal compliance, while ensuring state and federal funding requirements are met. Working collaboratively with school districts throughout Southern California, you will provide expert fiscal guidance, help maximize funding that supports vital student health services, and mentor project accounting staff in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative financial professional with strong leadership, analytical, customer service, and communication skills, advanced Microsoft Excel expertise, and a passion for using sound financial stewardship to make a meaningful impact on students, schools, and communities.
