About the Role

As the Senior Program Manager, Facilities Construction and Vendor Lead for the Peoria Area, you will help lead significant and visible facilities initiatives. This role is accountable for coordinating execution across consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to successfully deliver a multi-year remediation and workplace transformation program.

In this role, you will partner closely with Facilities Leadership, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Finance, Safety, and external partners to provide program leadership across complex and highly visible projects.

You will be responsible for driving execution, maintaining schedule performance, managing field risks, ensuring contractor accountability, and coordinating activities across multiple facilities and stakeholder groups. Success in this role requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to deliver results in a highly visible environment with significant executive oversight.

The ideal candidate is an experienced program leader who excels in complex environments, builds credibility across all organizational levels, and can effectively balance competing priorities while driving measurable business outcomes. This position provides significant visibility to senior leadership and offers the opportunity to help shape the future operational readiness of key Caterpillar facilities.

What You Will Do

Construction & Vendor Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day execution of large-scale construction, relocation, and facility readiness activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance related to safety, quality, schedule, cost, and delivery commitments.
  • Partner with Procurement to support sourcing strategies, change management, and contractor performance reviews.
  • Align project objectives with long-term business priorities and operational needs.
  • Drive accountability and execution across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups while maintaining key schedule milestones and critical-path activities.
  • Escalate execution risks and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support strategic facilities investment initiatives designed to enhance future operational capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
  • Partner with senior leaders, engineering teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Translate construction and schedule impacts into business implications and recommended actions.
  • Support executive governance and decision-making processes for a highly visible enterprise initiative.
  • Influence decisions and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to remove barriers and accelerate execution.
  • Present updates, recommendations, and business cases to leadership teams.

Financial & Program Controls
  • Evaluate contractor proposals, change orders, schedule impacts, and execution alternatives.
  • Manage program budgets, forecasts, resource planning, and investment priorities.
  • Monitor schedule performance, project risks, and program health indicators.
  • Ensure contractor performance is aligned with approved scope, budget, and timeline objectives.
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks that may impact delivery objectives.
  • Ensure effective use of project controls and governance processes.

Compliance & Operational Excellence
  • Ensure adherence to Caterpillar policies, procurement requirements, safety standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Promote disciplined program management practices across teams and partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, governance, and execution effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts across facilities program management activities.


What You Have

Program Management
  • Experience leading large-scale programs and portfolios, especially $25M+ programs.
  • Experience managing multiple contractors simultaneously
  • Experience delivering complex occupied-building renovations or facility transformation projects
  • Ability to establish governance, execution frameworks, and accountability measures.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives and priorities.

Leadership & Influence
  • Strong influencing skills across executive leaders, business partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Experience driving cross-functional alignment in complex environments.

They will be known for delivering results, communicating clearly, and helping ensure the program is executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to employees and business operations.

Summary Pay Range:

$172,630.00 - $258,950.00
