Senior Production Planner

Job Description
Plan and determine the most efficient method of achieving program objectives within the framework of technical capabilities. Create manufacturing order schedules and purchase requisitions for assigned projects using MRP systems. Track and monitor purchased material for assigned projects, identifying critical parts and critical path assemblies to meet scheduled delivery dates. Execute plans and control programs through manufacturing and testing to ensure timely delivery of equipment to customers.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments.
  • Perform complex expediting and record-keeping functions with current information on the location and progress of manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Release kits to the production floor with proper travelers, operation sheets, and documentation.
  • Host meetings on the status of programs regarding schedules with Project Management, Production, Test, and other relevant teams to resolve any problems or difficulties impacting the on-time delivery of jobs.
  • Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Move or transport material from one department to another.
  • Expedite material to assure delivery and availability of material by due date.
  • Follow processing internal work orders to ensure that items and assemblies will be completed on schedule.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to ensure Work in Progress (WIP) is at current revisions.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience, or equivalent work experience with 4 years prior relevant experience.
  • 4-6 years' experience in Planning or Production Control in an electronic or electro-mechanical manufacturing facility.
  • 4-6 years' ERP/MRP experience.
  • Strong knowledge of work schedules, bill of material, and receiving reports.
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and nomenclature of parts and components used in electro-mechanical manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Costpoint, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and additional formulas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with radio frequency (RF) applications.
  • Experience with production planning and scheduling.

This is a Permanent position based out of Melville, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
• Pay Period: Weekly, Direct Deposit only
• Paid-Time-Off: Exempt - Flexible Time Off (Eligible after 60-day introductory period)
