Full Job Description
Description

As a Sightline Product Manager, you will drive day-to-day execution for Verily's flagship population health intelligence platform. This role focuses on commercializing predictive analytics and accelerating our transition into a high-margin data insights business. You will shepherd the platform lifecycle as we scale multi-modal forecasting tools, expand into advanced microbiome sequencing, and capture international markets.

This is an execution-focused position requiring a precise intersection of scientific insight and agile program mastery. Leveraging your background in infectious disease, you will translate complex biological workflows into engineering directives. Using your strong background as a Product Manager and certified Agile practitioner, you will maintain sprint velocities and pipeline tracking to deliver world-class science to our life sciences, biosecurity, and public health partners.

Responsibilities
  • Drive Commercial Product Strategy: Translate complex pharma and biosecurity workflows into clear product requirements and user stories for high-value predictive analytics, forecasting, and variant horizon-scanning tools.
  • Scale Molecular Diagnostic Pipelines: Serve as the core translation layer for engineering and computational biology teams to scale routine digital PCR (ddPCR), amplicon sequencing, and next-generation metagenomic sequencing (mNGS) workflows.
  • Champion Technical Agile Execution: Run daily Scrum ceremonies and own JIRA/Confluence roadmapping from design to production-grade deployment for dedicated software and computational biology squads.
  • Facilitate Ecosystem Integration: Coordinate data integration frameworks across broader public health endpoints and centralized data marketplaces to achieve continuous product parity.
  • Manage Data Governance & IP: Collaborate with clinical, legal, and academic stakeholders to safely navigate complex technical sample transfer protocols, intellectual property, and data licensing guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of demonstrated work experience as a Product Manager, Technical Project Manager, or Technical Product Manager leading platform execution in a life sciences, biotech, or high-tech environment.
  • Educational Background: Degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) or practical professional experience in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, or a related quantitative life sciences discipline.
  • Domain Expertise: A background in infectious disease (e.g., exposure to epidemiology, molecular diagnostics, public health surveillance, or virology).
  • Technical Operational Depth: Deep familiarity with JIRA ticketing systems, managing data engine deployment cycles, and holding cross-functional squads accountable to delivery timelines.
  • Complex Stakeholder Communication: Proven ability to translate intricate scientific data parameters (such as assay configurations, signal-to-noise ratios, and variant abundances) into structured, scannable technical requirements for platform engineers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Agile Certification: Active, industry-recognized certification (e.g., CSM, CSPO, PMP-ACP, or SAFe).
  • Direct experience working with high-throughput laboratory data architectures (such as ddPCR data strings, amplicon sequencing, or raw genomic sequence datasets).
  • Familiarity with the biopharma value chain, specifically how population-level biological insights optimize vaccine strain selection and clinical trial recruitment timelines.
