Full Job Description
Position Overview
The Analyst IV, Product Management leads product initiatives and drives execution across departments. This role is responsible for translating strategy into actionable plans.

What You'll Do:

Product Roadmap & Delivery
  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and backlog for member medical cost and transparency products, ensuring they align with the broader ME&T vision.
  • Define the problems worth solving for members by combining member research, usage data, and cost/transparency domain knowledge, and translate that into a prioritized roadmap.
  • Partner with engineering, data science, data engineering, data operations, and product owners to define scope, sequence work, manage dependencies, and remove blockers.
  • Actively participate in sprint ceremonies - planning, grooming, and retrospectives - maintaining close alignment with engineering on priorities and progress.
  • Lead prioritization across competing needs, balancing client commitments, regulatory requirements, platform modernization, operational improvements, and long-term scalability.
  • Communicate roadmap progress, delivery risks, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Resolve product and domain questions in real time, leveraging deep knowledge of member cost and transparency data to keep delivery moving.
  • Review and validate delivered features against requirements and success criteria, ensuring member cost and transparency solutions work as intended for members.

Domain Expertise: Member Cost & Transparency
  • Deep subject matter expertise in the member cost experience - claims, rates, benefits, eligibility, deductibles, copays, accumulators, and billing codes - and how they translate into clear, actionable information for members.
  • Understand how underlying cost and provider data is sourced and surfaced across the ME&T product suite, and identify gaps in coverage, accuracy, or usability that affect the member experience.
  • Serve as the go-to product expert on member cost and transparency questions across engineering, other product teams, and customer success.
  • Write clear business requirements, technical specifications, user stories, data requirements, and acceptance criteria that enable engineering teams to build with minimal ambiguity or rework.
  • Resolve data-domain questions related to cost estimates, claims, rates, provider attributes, networks, specialties, services performed, eligibility/benefits, and member-facing transparency experiences.
  • Maintain product and data documentation in collaboration with Product Operations, Engineering, and Technical Writing.
  • Stay current on healthcare price transparency regulations and industry developments relevant to member cost tools (e.g., No Surprises Act, price transparency rules), and translate regulatory requirements into product requirements.

Roadmap & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Own the roadmap for your product area, balancing member needs, business priorities, regulatory requirements, and engineering capacity, in partnership with other Product Managers across ME&T.
  • Provide input into broader ME&T roadmap discussions by surfacing member needs, product constraints, dependencies, and opportunities based on your domain expertise.
  • Communicate roadmap progress, risks, and blockers to leadership and stakeholders clearly and proactively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders - including product, engineering, design, data partnerships, and customer success - to ensure your products meet evolving member and business needs.
  • Manage intake for new feature requests, working with other Product Managers to prioritize and sequence against your existing roadmap and commitments.

Quality, Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Define and track product KPIs - such as adoption, accuracy, member satisfaction, and cost-estimate reliability - to evaluate the health and impact of your cost and transparency products.
  • Identify and escalate data quality, usability, or delivery issues that could impact the member experience or product performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product practices, documentation standards, and delivery workflows in close collaboration with engineering and design.
  • Maintain up-to-date product documentation in Confluence and other product tools to ensure consistent team alignment.

What You'll Bring to Zelis:

Experience
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years owning a product area end-to-end (strategy, roadmap, and delivery) in a senior PM or equivalent role.
  • Demonstrated experience defining product strategy and roadmap, and working directly with engineering and design teams in an Agile environment.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering and design teams can execute against with minimal ambiguity.
  • Prior experience in the Healthcare IT space, with working knowledge of member cost and claims data (cost transparency, X12 EDIs including 270/271 and 837s) strongly preferred; candidates with adjacent healthcare product experience and strong curiosity to learn the domain will also be considered.
  • Experience developing and delivering B2B or B2B2C digital products - e.g., web or mobile experiences, cost estimator tools, or transparency portals.
  • Track record of shipping product features on time that measurably improved the member or customer experience in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

Product & Technical Skills
  • Strong product management fundamentals - defining problems, prioritizing a roadmap, writing requirements, and measuring outcomes.
  • Technical depth sufficient to partner with data science and engineering on data models, product analytics, and system design - able to ask the right questions and understand the answers.
  • Comfort with product analytics tools, and ideally some familiarity with SQL, to explore member and product data independently.
  • Experience with BI and analytics delivery; familiarity with cloud BI platforms such as Looker, Sigma, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy, governance, and security concepts - particularly as they apply to healthcare data (PHI/PII).
  • Proficiency with product and delivery tools including Jira and Confluence; familiarity with Productboard or similar road mapping tools.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Analytics, AI/ML, and data science concepts as they apply to product decision-making.

Communication & Collaboration
  • Strong written communication skills - the ability to produce clear, precise, well-structured requirements and documentation is a core job function of this role.
  • Effective verbal communicator; able to engage confidently with engineers in technical discussions and with leadership in business and strategy discussions.
  • Collaborative working style; comfortable both driving your own product area and partnering with other Product Managers on shared priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, prioritize effectively under pressure, and make sound product tradeoffs with clear rationale.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to catch data inconsistencies, requirement gaps, and edge cases before they reach engineering.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience owning a member-facing healthcare product end-to-end, from strategy through delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with member-facing healthcare products, transparency tools, provider directory solutions, or cost estimation applications.
  • Familiarity with CMS requirements related to healthcare price transparency regulations (No Surprises Act, Transparency in Coverage).
  • SaaS or platform product background with experience in consumer or member-facing digital products.
  • Experience defining and tracking product KPIs and partnering with data teams on quality remediation.
  • Experience with product discovery frameworks, member research, or experimentation (A/B testing).
