Full Job Description
About the role

As Affirm continues its rapid growth, it's critical for the company to scale its funding capacity and loan origination capabilities to support the growing billions of dollars in loans that Affirm underwrites every year. That's where Capital Product comes in. The Capital Product team is responsible for conceiving, designing, and building the next generation of tools, systems, and processes required to scale Affirm's intricate Capital operations. Within Capital, the Originations product area is the engine that powers how every Affirm loan comes into existence, managing the integrations, allocation logic, and regulatory compliance across our network of originating bank partners and our own originating entities.

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the Originations product area end-to-end. You'll be the single-threaded owner of originator integrations, allocation logic, bank partner onboarding, and the systems that ensure every checkout can be fulfilled with the right origination capacity. You'll drive product strategy and execution in close partnership with the Loan Origination & Reporting (LOR) engineering team, while navigating a complex web of internal and external stakeholders across Bank Partnerships, Credit, Compliance, and Capital Markets.
What You'll Do
  • Own the Originations product area end-to-end: Serve as the single-threaded product owner for originator integrations, originator allocation, bank partner onboarding, and the Funding ETL, the primary database powering all Capital activities. You hold the full picture of how loans are originated at Affirm and you drive it forward.
  • Build deep expertise in the originator ecosystem: Become the definitive internal expert on Affirm's originating bank partners and internal originating entities, understanding their capabilities, regulatory constraints, volume dynamics, and integration requirements. Use that expertise to drive strategy for expanding and diversifying the originator network.
  • Own originator allocation and ensure coverage: Own the allocation logic that determines which originator is selected for every loan at checkout, balancing volume targets, regulatory restrictions, and originator preferences. Coverage gaps here mean loans that can't be originated, so reliability and completeness are the bar.
  • Define and drive origination health metrics: Set clear success metrics for the origination product, own product-originator coverage tracking, and ensure data quality in the Funding ETL that downstream Capital teams depend on. You are accountable for the numbers that tell Affirm whether origination is working.
  • Set strategy and execute the roadmap: Translate business needs, regulatory requirements, and engineering constraints into a clear, prioritized origination roadmap. Write crisp PRDs, define testable milestones, and partner closely with the LOR engineering team to ship.
  • Lead cross-functional execution across a complex stakeholder map: Partner with Bank Partnerships, Credit, Legal, Compliance, and Capital Markets to navigate regulatory changes, onboard new partners, and keep origination systems tightly integrated with downstream funding, settlement, and reporting pipelines. This role touches nearly every part of Affirm's financial infrastructure.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of product management experience in fintech, lending, payments, or financial services
  • Proven track record of launching complex, cross-functional products at scale, from concept through production, with clear business impact
  • Experience designing and owning platform products that serve internal stakeholders with hard operational SLAs
  • Solid technical fluency: comfortable partnering with engineers on system design, APIs, data pipelines, and batch processing, and capable of forming strong technical opinions
  • Strong prioritization and strategic judgment: identifies high-impact opportunities, balances urgency with long-term thinking, and turns ambiguous or conflicting inputs into clear, well-scoped specs
  • Outstanding communicator and influencer across a wide stakeholder audience, including senior leadership, engineering partners, and external partners; builds trust quickly and drives alignment
  • High AI fluency: uses AI-assisted tools to raise the quality and speed of your own work and models this mindset for others
  • This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
