Senior Procurement Specialist

REPORTS TO:

Director of Global Procurement

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Fountainhead Group is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to support manufacturing operations, strategic sourcing initiatives, and overall supply chain performance. Reporting to the Director of Global Procurement, this role is responsible for executing procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, driving cost and process improvements, and ensuring the timely availability of materials, equipment, and services required to support production and business operations.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned procurement professional with at least five years of purchasing or sourcing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. This individual will serve as a key resource within the procurement team, leveraging their expertise to strengthen supplier partnerships, improve procurement processes, support complex sourcing initiatives, and help elevate the overall capabilities of the function. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to balance day-to-day execution with long-term business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute purchasing and sourcing activities for direct materials, MRO, capital equipment, tooling, and operational projects.
  • Manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery while ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and production requirements.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage supplier relationships to achieve cost, quality, delivery, and service objectives.
  • Collaborate with planning, operations, engineering, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability and support production schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, inventory levels, and supply risks; proactively identify and implement solutions.
  • Analyze pricing, market trends, and total cost of ownership to support informed sourcing decisions and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data, supplier records, purchase order information and purchasing activities within Epicor/Kinetic and other business systems.
  • Serve as a trusted procurement resource, sharing best practices and helping strengthen procurement capabilities across the team.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, Purchasing, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing procurement experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or buying experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier performance to support operational and business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, supply chain operations, and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems; Epicor/Kinetic experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate costs, supplier performance, and market conditions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, MRO purchasing, or complex sourcing initiatives preferred.
  • CPSM, CSCP, C-PSCM, or equivalent professional procurement certification preferred.
