SAIC has an immediate opening for aSenior Principal Software Engineerexperienced in software and hardware development, integration, operations, and maintenance for space and ground systems. Job Responsibilities: As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting BMC3 software development for the PWSA, ensuring effective integration of cloud-hosted environments with mission-critical space applications.
- Drive all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Develop and optimize the secure software hosting environment to ensure high performance and resilience for SDA's mission applications.
- Provide technical oversight and leadership in the integration of software components, ensuring compatibility with both space and ground system architectures.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in development, testing, and operational environments, including addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and mission-critical system challenges.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements that enhance capabilities and system security.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative culture that emphasizes innovation and technical growth.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Minimum of 14 years of relevant experience in software and hardware development, integration, and operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in the full software development lifecycle and software methodologies, including Agile development practices.
- Strong technical knowledge of software architecture, cloud computing, and secure hosting environments.
- Proficiency in Object Oriented programming languages.
- Active security clearance (minimum Secret level, TS/SCI preferred).
- Leadership or management experience in a technical capacity supporting large-scale, multi-disciplinary programs.
Desired Experience and Certifications:- Experience with the development and deployment of DevSecOps pipelines in a cloud environment.
- Working knowledge of space communication protocols, standards, and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity and associated frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF).
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
