Job Description

SAIC is seeking experienced Senior Principal Ground Systems Integrator to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 3 Program Integration (T3PI) program. This position requires an active Secret security clearance.

SAIC will be overseeing the Systems Engineering and Integration of the Tranche 3 space vehicle constellations, hundreds of satellites accomplishing multiple mission areas, including missile warning, tracking and defense. We work with the SDA, end users, space vehicle contractors, and ground segment contractors to ensure the architecture, requirements, implementation, integration and testing are executed successfully. Consistent with the SDA's approach, the program will be fast-paced, dynamic, highly exciting and uniquely rewarding for the right candidate.

This role can be onsite in Chantilly, VA or remote in Colorado Springs, CO or Denver, CO.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as Program Integrator Liaison to the Ground Segment development contractor
  • Monitor key interface development, testing, and software deployment and advise the T3PI team and Government Systems Engineering Team on progress
  • Proactive mindset to dig in and figure out technical solutions
  • Energetic and clear communicator, able to collaborate with key stakeholders on ICDs, interface maturation, and inclusion of new interfaces in support of mission closure
  • Identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks related to the ground systems and collaborate with system contractor team(s) to develop and evaluate mitigation strategies
  • Support verification, validation, and deployment of ground solutions to operations.
  • Support readiness reviews and major program reviews to evaluate ground system readiness


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline and14 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree and 12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in development and operation of classified satellite ground systems specifically related to mission planning, management and command and control.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
  • Experience with Cloud-based satellite ground systems deployed in Amazon Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) such as the Secret Commercial Cloud Services (SC2S)
  • Ability to work in a very dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners.
  • Ability to facilitate technical discussions with SMEs.
  • Demonstrated success applying systems engineering principles and practices across complex technical programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.
  • Experienced with fast-paced, space or ground system programs
  • Experience in Agile methods for program management or software development
  • Experience developing and testing software with heavy utilization of REST and ESB, including testing tools such as SoapUI, Fortify, SSH, LoadRunner, Swagger, Parasoft, Fiddler, etc.
  • Experience with space-sector technologies and protocols used for COMSEC, time sync, and communicating with antenna services


Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with advanced networking capabilities such as HAIPE, MPLS, SDN, and CCSDS
  • Experience related to cloud operations, DevSecOps, CI/CD, PKI, landing zones, and interfaces
  • Familiarity with Information Assurance, cybersecurity, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
  • Experience supporting formal program reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PMRs.
  • Experience evaluating Engineering Change Proposals, requirements changes, discrepancy reports, and contractor technical deliverables.
  • Experience with payload, satellite, mission system, or ground segment data products.
  • Experience with space systems; ability to conduct trade studies, define interfaces, and work with the developer to mature interface requirements.
  • Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data.
