Summary

This position is for a Principal Engineer AI/ML Server System Architect. As system architect, one will define the architecture of leading and competitive AI systems, lead new technology research, study market trend, customers interface and lead Celestica's design team in the AI/ML infrastructure space. Although the position is primarily a hardware based, the candidate must have strong knowledge in AI systems design including AI training and inference workloads and performance demands, as well as compute, connectivity, management, power, and cooling subsystems.

Detailed Description

  • Define Complex AI/ML infrastructure platform solutions and lead a multi-disciplined team to bring to implementation. Extensive and focused engagement through EVT, phasing out thereafter. Ensure overall design quality metrics are met.
  • Develop and maintain close technical relationships with suppliers/partners on product roadmaps and technologies.
  • Lead RFQ technical responses and Celestica platform concept development efforts as appropriate.
  • Provide effective trade-off analysis and competitive guidance to engineering teams and customers.
  • Deliverables include System Requirements Documents (SRD), requirement compliance assessments, and Technical proposals.
  • Act as a primary technical interface between Celestica and our customers, particularly in technical escalation.
  • Provide technical support to business development teams to assist in the winning of new business.
  • Participate in the selection and hiring of design team resources as required.
  • Identify and Champion process improvement efforts as needed.
  • Participate in standards committees and industry groups as assigned.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to customers, industry groups, tradeshows, etc.
  • Maintain current on industry trends and future technology and market opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years Server and/or AI/ML accelerator hardware design experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of AI Infrastructure system design experience.
  • Experience with Nvidia, AMD, and/or Intel GPU accelerators and support systems
  • Successful experience architecting and delivering server/storage/converged products to market.
  • Excellent Customer presentation skills. Interface and interact with large OEM customers on ongoing product related issues and new product design concepts.
  • A broad knowledge of current digital and analogue components.
  • Successful New Product Introduction (NPI) launch.
  • Extensive knowledge of system level power, cooling, mechanical, SW/FW and electrical design integration and engineering trade-offs.


Desired Skills

  • Experience working with Asian based design teams is desired.
  • Systems SW experience in related fields is desired.
  • Prior participation in industry groups and associations is desired.
  • System level integration, interoperability and test experience is desired.
  • System level manufacturing test experience is desired.

Typical Education

  • BS in Electrical Engineering required; MSEE preferred.


Travel

  • International travel required, approximately 4-6 trips per year.
  • Domestic travel to support customer and internal meetings as required.


Salary

$166,000 - 228,000 USD/year
