Full Job Description
Senior Pre-Construction Estimator

Who You Are:

The Senior Pre-construction Estimator is responsible for leading the preconstruction cost estimating of large-scale land development sites and distinct product types of various customers. This role will work closely with our construction management partners to stay abreast of cost trends, develop a database of current costs in various markets, and provide cost estimates to development teams to be utilized in long range capital planning and sales negotiations. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional leadership skills, advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, and extensive proficiency in construction contract documents and financial software tools.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead estimating process by preparing detailed cost estimates for data center projects and campuses at various project stages.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates. Assess labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing in various markets.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external project teams, including project management teams, designers and construction managers to gather and verify cost-related information, and identify and mitigate potential development challenges.
  • Provide recommendations on design alternatives to control costs while maintaining project quality.
  • Stay abreast of construction industry trends, material prices, and labor costs in various markets to provide the most accurate estimates and cost projections.
  • Maintain database of current development costs and develop policies and procedures for accurate and timely cost estimating and record keeping.


What You Will Need to be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture; or relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst).
  • Advanced proficiency in construction documents.
  • Ability to work within dynamic and diverse team and environment.
  • Ability to lead and mentor others.
  • Seven or more years of experience in preconstruction estimating or construction management.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%


Nice To Have:
  • Understanding of data center mechanical and electrical topologies.
  • Ten or more years of experience in preconstruction estimating or construction management preferred.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role a plus.
  • Large infostructure projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
